Welcome to the Department of Library
and Information Science at the University of Karachi.
The Department of Library and Information Science is
dedicated to educating individuals in the competencies
needed for traditional and emerging careers in
librarianship. The Department is the first institution
in Pakistan to offer library and information science
education at University level. For over 50 years, the
department has educated individuals to work in
libraries, information agencies, and other information
professions.
