Associate Professor & Chairperson, Department of Library
and Information Science at University of Karachi with
more than 29 years of experience in librarianship,
research and teaching at university level. She has a
distinguished academic record, having three gold medals
in her academic career. She received her Ph.D in 2017
from University of Karachi. She is the
author of one Book and 24 research articles published in
national and international journals. Collection
development, publishing, reference sources & services,
planning of LIS and international librarianship are main
areas of her interest. Dr. Siddiqui is passionate,
committed to; motivate the students in developing their skills
and potential for outstanding achievements as a
dedicated partner to university programs as students

She is working as Assistant Professor in Department of
Library and Information Science at University of Karachi
with more than 24 years of experience in librarianship,
research and teaching at university level. She did her
Ph.D (entitled, Proposed Automated Library Management
System for Public Libraries in Karachi) in 2018 from
University of Karachi under the supervision of
meritorious Professor Dr. Aqil Burney. She
writes more than 20 research articles, published in
national and international journals. Public
libraries, automation, indexing and abstracting are her
field of interest.
Dr. Muhammad Waseem Zia

Rashid Ali is a lecturer at the Department of Library
and Information Science, University of Karachi. He has
been teaching at the University of Karachi since 2014.
He is a highly qualified professional with a diverse
educational background in library and information
science, computer science, and information technology.
He holds an MPhil in Library and Information Science, an
MS in Computer Science, an MSc in IT, and an MLIS
degree. With his extensive knowledge and expertise in
these fields, he is a valuable asset to the profession.
His areas of interest and specialization are library
automation, digitization of library resources, and
information technology in libraries. He also presented
research papers at different national and international
conferences and published articles in reputable
journals.
